5-STARS FOR YOUR CHILD

In North Carolina, preschool and childcare facilities that are registered can receive between one and five stars. A rating of one star means that a childcare program meets North Carolina’s minimum licensing standards for child care, and programs that choose to voluntarily meet higher standards can apply for additional stars.

Church Childcare Center holds five stars thanks to our outstanding standards and education of our Teachers! In addition, programs having a two-component license can earn a “quality point” for enhanced standards related to environment ratings and education standards, which are awarded by trained evaluators during on-site observations of the children and the environment. These quality assessment scales were developed through the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

5-STARS IN ACTION

  • Teacher-to-student ratios are very low. This allows the teacher to have more one on one individual attention to focus on your Child’s specific learning style.

  • Your child is provided with a variety of materials to play, learn and to explore with in an ever-changing environment that keep them interested in the learning process.

  • The highest health and hygiene practices are followed by staff and students.

  • Your child’s needs are met in a positive and timely manner.

  • Your child will have many opportunities throughout the day for free play. While your child is playing, he/she is learning all the necessary skills needed to be successful in school as well as their environment.

  • All lead teachers have a degree in early childhood education or the equivalent.

  • All teachers continue to attend classes and conferences to keep up to date on the latest in early childhood practices.
